One popular Florida vacation spot is the Florida Keys.  The Florida Keys are a string of islands that stretch for about 120 miles off the southern tip of Florida starting with Key Largo and ending with Key West.   This sunny stretch of paradise offers a wide variety of activities including world class fishing, snorkeling diving, shopping,  drinking, eating, and is truly a great place for relaxing.  You can plan a fun family vacation to the Florida Keys exploring the wildlife and swimming with dolphins.  This is also the perfect spot for a Florida destination wedding.

On the south east coast, you will find amazing Florida vacation spots.  The ever trendy Miami has so much to see and do including the beautiful art deco architecture and sandy white beaches of South Beach.   Just north of Miami, you can visit Fort Lauderdale, also known as the “Venice of America”  because of its expansive canal system.  You can take a boat tour from the Riverwalk area and see some of the opulent houses of the rich and famous.  A little further to the north is Delray Beach, which has won the title of All American City multiple times.  Take a stroll down Atlantic Avenue in this “Village by the Sea”, and enjoy some incredible restaurants and shopping, and don’t forget to grab a scoop of homeade ice cream before you head out to the beautiful white sand beach.   Another great Florida vacation spot is the island of Palm Beach.  This incredible island is filled with the vacation homes of the rich and famous including Donald Trump’s amazing Mara Lago estate.  If you are looking for truly world class shopping, take a stroll down Worth Avenue, which is known as the Rodeo Drive of the east coast.

The gulf coast of Florida also has some great vacation spots and is known for having the best beaches and the best shelling in Florida.  Siesta Key has repeatedly been voted one of the top beaches in the world by sources such as Travel Channel, National Geographic, and Dr. Beach.   If you are looking  for a golf vacation, Naples is the place to go with more than 80 championship golf courses in the surrounding area.  In nearby Fort Myers, you can visit the Edison and Ford winter estates which offers 20 acres of historical houses, gardens, and museums.  Baseball fans can enjoy a spring training game from either the Minnesota Twins or the Boston Red Sox who both do their annual spring training in Fort Myers.  Just to the north, in Sarasota, don’t miss the Ringling Brothers Museum, or John Ringling’s mansion, Ca’ d’Zan.  Tampa is a great place for a family vacation where you can do fun things such as visit Busch Gardens, The Florida Aquarium, or Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo.  Destin, Panama City, and Pensacola are 3 more great vacation spots with beautiful white sand beaches.

One of the top family vacation spots in Florida is the Orlando area in Central Florida.  Orlando is home to DisneyWorld which includes four different Theme Parks as well as two water parks, plus much more.  It is also home to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, Seaworld, and many more attractions.  A short drive to the east will take you to Cape Canaveral, home to NASA and the Kennedy Space Center.  In nearby Cocoa Beach, you can visit the famous Ron Jon Surf Shop and catch some waves at the beach.

Northeast Florida is home to some great Florida vacation spots as well, including the oldest European settled city in the United States, St. Augustine.  Located on the coast, just 40 miles south of Jacksonville, St. Augustine is filled with historic charm and romance.  Take a Trolley ride around the city to take in all the sites, drink from the Fountain of Youth, and don’t forget to take a tour of the  St Augustine Lighthouse which is one of the twenty nine Florida Lighthouses.

If nature is what you are looking for, then a trip to one of the Florida State Parks will make be the perfect trip.  Rainbow Springs State Park near Ocala which has some of the most beautiful natural springs in the world.  Bahia Honda State Park in the Florida Keys is another amazing park which has beautiful white sand beaches, not to mention great fishing and snorkeling.    At Weeki Wachee Springs State Park located north of Tampa, you can see mermaids gracefully swim through the water.   There are also eleven National Parks in Florida, including Everglades National Park, which are truly magnificent examples of Florida’s natural beauty.
